Labour Cost
The minimum wage for Newfoundland and Labrador is $8.50 CND ($6.88 US) per hour.  This is set by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and is on track to increase to $10.00 per hour in 2010 (July 2009 - $9.00; January 2010 - $9.50; July 2010 - $10.00).  The average wage paid by employers in the community ranges between $9.00 ($7.28 USD) - $15.00 ($12.13 USD) per hour.
